Newcastle a récemment été racheté par de riches propriétaires et le club est à la recherche de renforts hivernaux. L'un de ces noms serait Origi. Cependant, le Northern Echo rapporte que Liverpool ne veut pas laisser Origi partir en janvier.
Dans la hiérarchie, Origi passe apprès Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mané, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino et Takumi Minamino. Entre le 9 janvier et le 6 février, cependant, Liverpool devra se passer de Salah et de Mané pour la Coupe d'Afrique.
