Après trois saisons à Charleroi, Cristian Benavente a mis le cap sur l'Egypte en janvier. Le Péruvien a répété à plusieurs reprises qu'il se sentait bien au FC Pyramids mais cela ne signifie pas pour autant qu'il a l'intention d'y rester très longtemps.
Selon Reports, Benavente aurait l'intention de revenir en Europe. Des clubs belges et portugais seraient intéressés. Lors des mercatos précédents, l'attaquant sud-américain a régulièrement été cité à Anderlecht.
