Le 10 septembre 2017, Adnan Januzaj a fait ses débuts à la Real Sociedad, un an plus tard, l'ailier n'est pas à la fête. Il a manqué le début de la saison et sa blessure au genou l'inquiète.
Januzaj, qui s'entraîne individuellement, vient d'entamer une nouvelle thérapie avec des infiltrations locales afin d'éviter l'opération. Ceci dit, il ne devrait pas être opérationnel pendant deux mois. Dans ce cas, Roberto Martinez ne pourra pas compter sur lui en octobre pour le match contre la Suisse.
